Alongside my studies:
I love to go to the latest gigs, live shows, and music events where you can experience fresh sounds and connect with fellow music enthusiasts.

Barbara’s Bier Haus
I have been working in a German-Themed bar, which has helped me develop my confidence, communication and interpersonal skills. I regularly interact with customers, build relationships and run Karaoke sessions, performing in front of audiences.

Creative and business sides of the industry
I am also an artist. I have music available on Spotfiy under ‘Tiny Minds’ and ‘Finlay Hunter’, Plus I will soon be releasing a song with my R&B band ,’The Constellations’. This allows me to understand both the Creative and business sides of the industry.
Career Goals

•My career goal is to work in the music industry, specifically in synchronisation licensing. This is an area that combines creativity with legal and commercial work, I am particularly interested in how music is put in film, TV and advertising.

•Another Career goal would be to advance and grow with my band ‘The Constallations’.

•Finally, later in life I aspire to create my own company in the music industries.

What i have achieved
So far I have gained valuable experience through internships in London.

I worked in a music law firm, meeting clients and learning about record deals and disputes.

I worked in a synchronisation/copyright firm also, which was more hands on, and I was very involved in the creative side of the job.
What I developed from the internships
•Knowledge of copyright and licensing
•Understanding of contracts and legal frameworks
•Strong attention to detail
•Professional communication skills

In more detail
•I have also attended networking events, including The Great Escape Festival, where I connected with industry professionals and built relationships face-to-face.
•Creatively, I have performed in multiple bands on stage, and I performed with the musical theatre society in front of an audience, which has significantly improved my confidence and stage presence.
Challenges and Reflection
•One of the key challenges I face is having ADHD, which can make multitasking more difficult.
•I also experience anxiety when speaking to new people or large groups.

Using Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle, I have reflected on this:
•I recognized that anxiety sometimes held me back, especially when speaking in groups
•I evaluated that avoiding situations limited my growth
•I concluded that pushing myself leads to improvement
•My action plan is to continue putting myself in challenging environments
This reflection has helped me become better at developing my confidence.

Personal Growth and Self-Awareness
Through my journey, I have learned that I am,
•Approachable and likeable, based on feedback from my jobs
•Adaptable across creative and professional environments
•Resilient when stepping outside my comfort zone
I have also learned that confidence is something I can build over time, rather than something fixed.

Professional Identity and Branding
To present myself professionally, I have developed my personal brand using Kapferer’s Brand Identity Prism:
•Physique- Professional and well-presented
•Personality- Friendly, passionate and driven
•Culture- Creative and collaborative
•Relationship- Strong focus on networking and connection building
•Reflection- Reliable and motivated
•Self-image- A developing industry professional

The future
•I am working towards a career in sync licensing, combining creativity with industry knowledge.
•Through my experiences, I have developed confidence, self-awareness and a clear direction. I have also taken practical steps, such as creating professional portfolio, CV and cover letter to position myself within the industry.
•Moving forward, I am committed to continuing to grow, build connections and take opportunities that will help me succeed in the music industry.
